WHY I MAKE THESE
I've loved working with wood since school, and when I retired I turned that lifelong passion into Woodpecker Gifts — something my wife Louise and I began together. Our ethos was that we wanted to use wood to turn into things people wanted in their home. We coined the phrase ‘from tree to treasure’ to reflect that approach. Every piece is designed, hand-painted and assembled by me, here in Suffolk, England: warm, glowing mood lights, from my tealight holders and the Tree of Life to a whole collection of British icons. Louise sadly passed in 2025, but the care she brought to it lives on in everything I make — and in the simple hope that one of my lights helps turn a house into a home.

My Walnut Veneer Mood Light is designed to bring a soft pool of warm light to a shelf, bedside table or quiet corner — simple by day, and transformed when the light comes on.
The repeating cut-out pattern wraps around all four sides, allowing the warm light from the LED tealight inside to glow gently through the diffuser. The walnut veneer gives it a rich, darker wood finish, with the natural grain bringing warmth and character to each piece.
It’s laser-cut, assembled and hand-finished by me in Suffolk, England, and made in small batches. Because wood is a natural material, subtle variations in grain and tone mean that no two will be exactly alike.
This Mood Light uses a battery-powered LED tealight (included) so there are no wires or cables and it can be placed almost anywhere around your home.
Choose from three sizes — Small, Medium or Large. Each works beautifully on its own, or combine different sizes to create a group of lights with a little more presence.

Few things say Britain quite like the classic red telephone box. My Red Telephone Box Mood Light takes this much-loved piece of British design and reimagines it as a warm, atmospheric light for the home.
Its familiar proportions, window panels and rich red finish make it instantly recognisable. Precision laser-cut from wood, the individual pieces are painted, detailed, assembled and hand-finished by me in Suffolk, England.
By day it’s a distinctive piece of British-inspired design. As evening falls, switch on the light and the windows begin to glow, transforming its character and bringing a little piece of London into the room.
Inside is a warm-white 2700K LED light. It is operated by a simple on/off switch and is not dimmable. The LED has a rated life of approximately 25,000 hours.
It is USB powered and supplied with a generous 2.5 metre lead, giving you plenty of flexibility when deciding where to display it. A USB mains adapter is not included, so it can be connected to a suitable USB power source or adapter you already have.

Red buses have been part of London life for more than a century, but it was the classic Routemaster — with its distinctive shape, bright red body and famous open rear platform — that became recognised around the world.
My London Bus takes its inspiration from that much-loved design. Its long profile, rows of windows and unmistakable red finish give it plenty of character even when the light is off.
